P A C K A G I N G – A package has precious few seconds to make an emotional connection and capture the wandering eyes of the consumer.

Incredibells

Bell packagingHang cards for bicycle bells. While most products in a bike shop are heavily laden with a brand identity we took a totally different approach with these bells and created a strong product personality for each of the different bells. We worked up illustrations that appeal to specific consumers and the overall display is much more eye-catching.

Babolat Tennis Ball Baskets

Babolat Tennis Ball Baskets Tennis ball baskets for Babolat a leading French tennis product manufacturer. Our design goals were to call attention to the brand and be clear about the size and appearance of the basket. The challenge was to create a compelling design using only two colors.

Tretorn

Tretorn tennis ball packageCustom Christmas gift wrap. Tretorn had just rebranded their MicroX tennis ball line. They wanted to give all their dealers a gift of the new balls for the holidays. They came to me for a solution. It was a lucky coincidence that their new identity contained the distinctive X that could be incorporated into the message.

Bookcliff Vineyards – Allegretto

Bookcliff Vineyards Allegretto label Label for a light and fruity dessert wine. At our first design meeting for this project, Ulla (co-owner of the vineyard) said she had a dream about umbrellas. She didn’t know what that had to do with the wine, but she felt she needed to tell me. The label was born from that one bit of, seemingly irrelevant, inspiration.

Bookcliff Vineyards – Friday’s Folly

Bookcliff Vineyards Friday's Folly LabelA economically priced wine targeting the casual wine drinking market. This wine was a departure from Bookcliff’s cellar of premium wines. We needed a name and a label that appealed to a younger crowd. And we wanted it to have a local connection. We cast about for weeks trying out various names. John (the other co-owner of Bookcliff Vineyards) was once a rock climber in Boulder. In one of our conversations he mentioned that there was an overhang formation behind the Flatirons that was called Friday’s Folly. We had our name. I called on Chris Silas Neal to do the illustration and typography. The wine is now one of Bookcliff’s top sellers.
